Each month, Assistant Principal Reed leads these engaging sessions, focusing on important topics and celebrating the amazing things happening in our school community through our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework. This year, we’re proud to embody our behavior expectations: BEAT—Brave, Empower, Acceptance, Thoughtful.
For September, our Huddle Up centered around the theme of community. AP Reed shared inspiring insights with our fourth graders about cultivating a sense of belonging, encouraging everyone to embrace their authentic selves. A highlight of the session was when a student showcased a stunning tessellation created by our fourth, fifth and sixth graders. Each hexagon in this pattern symbolizes a student’s unique identity, interests and background, illustrating how art connects us to our personal stories!
In October, our focus shifts to the theme of identity. Throughout the month, students will continue crafting these tessellations, which will be displayed on the gym walls, celebrating the diversity that makes our school special. Recognizing and valuing our identities is essential for fostering confidence and success. When we embrace who we are and accept each other, we strengthen our community, ensuring everyone feels like they truly belong.
To wrap up our Huddle Up, fourth grade teachers honored students who demonstrated the spirit of community building and our BEAT expectations in September by presenting them with certificates. Congratulations to our remarkable students for their hard work and dedication!
